New look for America’s oldest press club: The Pen and Pencil Club in Philadelphia
Shhh! It’s off the record. But as long as Philadelphia’s Pen and Pencil Club - America’s oldest press club! - decided to share my photos from Friday evening on their open Facebook group, I thought it would be OK to share them here as well. Find about about membership or contact the club.
Kathy Matheson of the AP’s Philly bureau and P&P President Chris Brennan of the Philadelphia Daily News were checking out the scene.
A new display from the club’s collection has replaced the Philadelphia Conference exhibit of the past five years, and now includes a print from the Hindenburg disaster, an Inquirer front page form 1864, and the plate from the notorious 1973 Daily News front page reporting: “Rizzo Lied, Tests Show”
